Specialty re/insurer Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd has promoted Susan Steinhoff to Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Hamilton Re, its Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance underwriting platform, effective January 1, 2026.
In her new role, Steinhoff will lead Hamilton Re’s underwriting activities and report to CEO Adrian Daws. She succeeds Tim Duffin, who became Group CUO on January 1, 2026.
Hamilton explained that under Steinhoff’s leadership, it will continue to strengthen its underwriting capabilities and deliver exceptional value to its customers and partners.
As Steinhoff transitions to her new role, Peter Riihiluoma will succeed her as senior vice president (SVP) and head of property and casualty reinsurance. Meanwhile, Sergio Lottimore will succeed Riihiluoma as senior vice president and head of specialty reinsurance.
The company explained that these promotions underscore Hamilton’s commitment to strong leadership and continuity for its underwriting team.
Steinhoff has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held senior roles at ACE (now Chubb) and joining Hamilton in 2014.
