SGIS Group approved as Lloyd’s registered broker

Simon Global Insurance Services (SGIS Group), a leading insurance brokerage platform, was approved by Lloyd’s of London as a registered broker on January 30, 2026.

The approval was brokered through its subsidiary SGIS Malaysia Ltd., but as the company noted, the development elevates the entire group into “an elite circle of global brokerage firms” with the power to negotiate and assume risk directly with underwriters at Lloyd’s, the world’s oldest insurance and reinsurance market.

As a broker at Lloyd’s, SGIS Group now has unparalleled direct access to underwriting expertise and specialist insurance capabilities, enhancing its ability to manage complex, high-risk exposure across all sectors.

Areas the group plans to expand into include financial lines and special casualty, cyber and political risk, professional indemnity, property and engineering and maritime and professional solutions.

With this entry, the group aims to design more complex bespoke insurance programs and acquire capacity more efficiently through direct participation in the Lloyds market.

Simon Oh, Founder and CEO of SGIS Group, commented: “Becoming a Lloyd’s Broker is a significant achievement and reflects our governance strength and technical expertise.

“Direct engagement with the Lloyd’s market allows us to deepen our commitment to international markets and deliver significantly higher value to our customers and business partners around the world.”
