Nexus Underwriting, a company of Arrowhead Intermediaries, has announced the appointment of Walid Youssef as Head of UK Financial Institutions.
In his new role, Youssef will manage Nexus’ UK financial institutions portfolio and drive the company’s strategy. He will report directly to Joanne Edgley, head of UK financial operations at Nexus.
Prior to joining Nexus, he served as senior vice president of the global financial institutions team at Lockton.
Prior to this, he spent more than four years at Travelers Europe, most recently as Head of Financial Institutions. He also served as a vice president at Marsh, where he advocated insurance solutions for a range of financial institutions.
Edgley commented: “We are delighted to welcome Walid to our Financial Institutions team, which has been a core pillar of Nexus since our inception. His leadership will be integral to the growth of the sector and we are widely regarded as the marketplace of choice for Financial Institutions brokers and policyholders.”
Youssef’s appointment reflects Nexus’ continued investment in specialist talent as the company continues to grow, and follows three other recent underwriting appointments in the division. These new additions include Sam Meehan as head of underwriting development, Scott Walker as senior underwriter, and Harry Risby, who will join the financial institutions team as an underwriter in February 2026.
Edgley added: “Financial Institutions is a key growth area and we continue to strengthen our team with strong industry specialization. Our strengthened Financial Institutions team provides tailored fiduciary and professional coverage to a broad range of financial institutions globally.”
