MNK International, an independent broker at Lloyd’s of London, has announced the appointment of Jamie Illing as CEO of MNK International South Africa.
He will draw on his more than thirty years of local and international insurance and reinsurance experience to lead the delivery of new services into the South African and wider Southern African markets.
Under Illing’s leadership, MNK International South Africa will refocus its efforts. The company will focus on delivering high-quality corporate re/insurance solutions, leveraging extensive international market knowledge and dedicated support to the local broker and insurance community.
MNK International South Africa will provide corporate clients, brokers and insurers with tailored re/insurance broking, technical analysis, risk advisory, alternative risk transfer and risk engineering, with direct access to international markets such as Lloyd’s of London.
Key industries include renewable energy, manufacturing, real estate, retail and FMCG, mining, construction and agriculture.
The company will focus on providing specialist risk advisory and corporate insurance programs as well as customized ad hoc and treaty reinsurance solutions in the South African and African markets.

Illing’s expertise extends the underwriting and brokerage platforms. His career includes senior leadership roles with organizations including Marsh, JLT Group, Independent Aviation and Regent Insurance.
Gerhard Raath serves as Head of Insurance & Reinsurance Brokerage, bringing 20 years of insurance, underwriting and brokerage experience; Paul Ray serves as Business Development Director, bringing more than 40 years of industry and distribution leadership expertise.
