Independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker Miller has announced the appointment of Saish Divakaram as head of Asia treaties.
Divakaram is based in Miller’s Singapore office and will report to Richard Broad, Head of Treaties, Asia Pacific.
Divakaram and Broad will work together to drive the continued growth of Miller’s regional treaty capabilities as a core pillar of the broker’s global reinsurance platform. Divakaram will lead the development of the team serving Miller’s rapidly expanding customer base in Asia.
He has over 30 years of industry experience in brokerage, underwriting and risk management, with deep expertise in the Asian re/insurance market.
Divakaram joins Miller after eight years at Gallagher Re, most recently as executive director responsible for building the Asia treaty business. He previously worked in Guy Carpenter’s treaty department.
Broad commented: “The Asian treaty market represents a significant growth opportunity for Miller as we continue to enhance our global reinsurance capabilities. Sailesh’s appointment reflects Miller’s long-term commitment to the market and our continued investment in industry-leading talent. As Sailesh continues to grow and develop our treaty proposition in Asia, we are excited to bring our leading brokerage and analytical services to a broader client base, combining the scale and infrastructure of our single global reinsurance platform with the deep Asian market expertise of our dedicated regional teams.”
Divakaram added: “I’m delighted to be joining Miller and can’t wait to deliver Miller’s proposition to our rapidly growing treaty client base in Asia. Working with such an experienced team for a true alternative broker is a compelling opportunity and I’m excited about our potential to leverage Miller’s global reinsurance capabilities to effectively enhance the regional treaty market.”
