Markel Insurance, the insurance business of Markel Group Inc., has appointed Ravi Jain as head of business development and distribution, India, based in Mumbai, effective immediately.
The appointment is in line with Markle’s wider commitment to investing in India and building strong local partnerships through market expertise.
In his new role, Jain will report to Deepika Mathur, Managing Director, Markel India, and work with brokers and other distribution stakeholders to drive new business opportunities and expand the insurance company’s regional presence.
In addition, he will leverage his broker network and market knowledge to enhance client service and help shape Markle’s broader international distribution strategy.
Jain has over 18 years of experience in the Indian insurance and broking industry. In the past, he has held various sales, underwriting and reinsurance positions with various organizations including HDFC ERGO and IndusInd General Insurance.
