CopperPoint Insurance Companies, a provider of workers’ compensation and commercial property and casualty insurance solutions, announced the appointment of Mark Woods as senior vice president and head of product.
In this role, Woods will lead the integration of underwriting products and systems, guide geographic and product expansion strategies, and drive CopperPoint’s continued investments in analytics and business intelligence.
He will report to John Carey, executive vice president and chief underwriting officer.
The executive has more than 18 years of insurance experience in product, underwriting, risk management, analytics and technology-driven solutions.
Woods joins CopperPoint from Travelers, where he worked for 17 years. During this time, he held key leadership roles in product management, platforms, third-party data, catastrophe risk management and underwriting automation.
Most recently, Woods served as Vice President of Portfolio Solutions for Traveler. While at Travelers, he spent two years at Morgan Stanley.
“We are pleased to welcome Mark to CopperPoint,” said Kellen Booher, president-elect and CEO. “His deep experience, innovative leadership and proven ability to deliver results will play a key role in further advancing our product capabilities and enhancing our overall customer experience.”
Woods is also a founding board member of the Colorado FAIR Plan, which seeks to expand access to property insurance for homeowners and businesses unable to obtain coverage through the traditional marketplace.
“CopperPoint’s strong foundation, strategic vision and culture of innovation make it an inspiring place to be,” Woods said. “I look forward to working with the team to build exciting momentum and support continued growth. By expanding the use of our products, platform and analytics, we will provide greater value to the agents and businesses we serve.”
