ICW Group, a national insurance company providing specialty risk and underwriting solutions, has expanded its ICW Specialty business unit with the introduction of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) solutions and the appointment of Travis Murnan as head of Alternative Risk Transfer in Atlanta, Georgia.
The move is part of ICW Group’s wider growth strategy and highlights the company’s focus on product diversification while delivering innovative solutions to complex customer needs. ART is expected to launch later this year under ICW Specialty, which was established in 2025 to support excess and surplus product as well as other underwriting options.
Murnan joins ICW Group to lead the development of ART capabilities, applying advanced data, analytics and actuarial modeling to create durable long-term risk solutions.
Tracey Estes, chief underwriting officer at ICW Specialty, commented: “Travis brings a rare depth of expertise in data, analytics and actuarial science, as well as the strategic thinking needed to turn insights into lasting solutions, and I am very pleased to welcome Travis to our team.”
“His technical rigor, intellectual curiosity and ability to see what’s going on around him make him the ideal leader to design, build and manage a long-term sustainable business. Equally important, Travis leads with integrity and humility, two qualities that are critical as we continue to build a people-centered, forward-thinking organization.”
Murnan has nearly 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, including work in actuarial pricing, captive insurance and alternative risk consulting.
He has led Lockton’s analytics practice for the past decade, most recently as senior vice president and head of the analytics practice. As a certified actuary, he is recognized for combining technical expertise with a client-focused approach. Murnan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of the Ozarks.
“As ICW Group continues to expand the breadth and sophistication of its ICW Specialty business unit, I am excited about the opportunity to build and lead the alternative risk transfer capability,” added Murnan.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to work with a talented and collaborative team to bring innovative, data-driven solutions to market. This role not only represents an exciting next chapter for me, but an opportunity to help shape the future of the firm and how it works with clients and brokers to manage risk.”
