Hinterland Insurance, an independent insurance MGA and program management agency focused on hard-to-dispose risks, has announced the addition of two senior leaders to its executive team, effective February 2, 2026.
Evan Krozy has been named chief underwriting officer, and Kristine Harding will serve as executive vice president, commercial packages and properties, reporting to Krozy.
The appointments mark an important step in Hinterland’s plans to expand its program and product suite.
The company was founded in 2019 as a commercial property and difference in condition (DIC) program administrator and has since experienced significant growth, increasing capacity and expanding its product offerings to include single-line and package solutions, as well as excess and surplus line coverage.
Lee Glaser, CEO of Hinterland, commented: “Our goal is to continue our positive growth trajectory and become a best-in-class specialty underwriting organization with a deep understanding of the risks we underwrite. We are focused on thoughtful profitable growth, high-quality service and consistent execution to bring more value to our wholesaler partners.”
“I am excited to add two experienced insurance industry leaders to our team. Evan’s strategic specialty line underwriting experience and Kristine’s expertise in developing customized underwriting structures will be invaluable in the execution of our strategy.”
In his role as chief underwriting officer, Krozy will apply his extensive background in underwriting and product innovation to strengthen and expand Hinterland’s growing portfolio. He has more than 25 years of experience in commercial underwriting, specialty product lines, projects, portfolio management, product development, compliance and operations.
Most recently, he served as chief operating officer of Frederick Mutual Insurance Company. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles including deputy chief underwriting officer at Ascot Group and chief underwriting officer for special properties at Hanover Insurance Group.
“Hinterland is building something truly unique. The company has achieved impressive growth due to its professional approach, high-quality service and proprietary technology. All of this has allowed them to act quickly and decisively. I look forward to working with this talented team to help the company achieve its growth goals,” added Krozy.
