Guy Money appointed MD of Allianz Commercial Iberia

Market veteran Guy Money has been appointed Managing Director of Allianz Commercial’s Iberia region and a member of the Board of Directors of Allianz Seguros (Spain).

Subject to regulatory approval, he will take over his new role on March 1, 2026 and will be based in Madrid.

Money will have dual reporting lines to Allianz Seguros CEO Veit Stutz and Allianz Commercial Chief Distribution Officer Jeremy Sharpe.

The executive will succeed Agustín de la Cuerda, who is moving to a new position to be confirmed shortly. de la Cuerda joined Allianz in 1994 and held leadership positions in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

He played a crucial role in establishing and developing Allianz Commercial in Iberia and in promoting Allianz Seguros’ SME business in Spain, where the company ranks among the top two. Allianz currently serves approximately 80% of the 35 listed companies on IBEX, often providing cross-border insurance outside of Iberia.

According to the announcement, Delacourda will continue in his role at Allianz Commercial and Allianz Insurance until Money takes over in March to ensure a smooth transition.

Jeremy Sharpe, chief distribution officer at Allianz Commercial, said: “I would like to thank Augustine for his leadership of Allianz Commercial in Iberia. He has firmly established our commercial business in the market and become a key hub in our multinational network, and I wish him all the best in his next steps.”

“I am very pleased to welcome Guy to Madrid: he has extensive international experience in the commercial sector and will further drive our business strategy in Iberia, supporting clients and brokers in this key region.”

Prior to joining Allianz, he served as Group Head of Liability Insurance at AXA. His career also includes five years in Singapore and various senior management roles in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Veit Stutz, CEO of Allianz Seguros (Spain), commented: “Agustín has played a key role in our company over the years. His leadership has made an important contribution to strengthening our business in Spain.

“I would like to thank him for his commitment and valuable contribution. Now, with Guy joining the team, we will continue to grow our SME and enterprise business, supported by his experience in the multinational sector, while further expanding our presence in Spain.”
