Lee Gammon has been promoted to the newly created position of Head of Maritime and Aviation at AXIS Global Markets, the global insurance and reinsurance business of AXIS Capital, effective January 1, 2026.
Gammon has been with Novae since joining the company in 2010 as a maritime liability underwriter.
Following AXIS’s acquisition of Novae, he became Head of Marine Liability in 2018 and has also led the company’s Deleated Marine Hull and Marine War underwriting efforts since 2019.
Prior to joining Axis and Vovae, Gammon worked as a casualty broker at Miller Insurance Services, an independent international specialty re/insurance broker.
The executive will continue to report to John Owen, global head of markets expertise, who commented: “Lee is an outstanding leader and highly respected underwriter.
“With this well-deserved promotion, Lee plays an important role on our team as we focus on long-term profitable growth and developing our leadership position in the global market specialty segment.”
