Foundry Insurance Services Ltd. (Foundry), a newly established centralized management platform in the life insurance and annuity fields, has been officially launched in Bermuda. The company is led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andrew Markus and focuses on investments, risk and capital management.
Markus is an experienced Bermuda insurance executive and is responsible for Foundry’s operations, supported by his team. The platform is operated with support from Blackstone affiliates and certain Blackstone-managed funds.
Most recently, Markus served as CEO of Atlantic Capital Partners LLC, a strategic advisory firm advising on new company formations in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, and as a non-executive director of Kemper Bermuda Ltd.
Previously, he served as CEO, COO and general counsel of Langhorne Reinsurance (Bermuda) Ltd., an E-rated reinsurance company in Bermuda.
In the past, he served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Maritime Finance Company and Assistant Vice President and Corporate Counsel of RenaissanceRe Ventures Ltd. He began his career as an attorney at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
