Everspan Group, a specialty property and casualty insurance platform and a wholly owned subsidiary of Octave Specialty Group, Inc., has announced two leadership appointments designed to advance the company’s next phase of expansion.
Darwin Lucas succeeds Steve Dresner as president. Nicole Crowley has also been named general counsel. Lucas will continue in his role as chief underwriting and reinsurance officer, a position he has held since 2023.
As President, Lucas will lead company operations and work closely with the executive team to drive strategic initiatives focused on expanding underwriting capabilities and strengthening Everspan’s presence in the market. He brings expertise in specialty insurance and reinsurance portfolio management and has been instrumental in the growth of the organization.

In conjunction with the leadership transition, Nicole Crowley has been promoted from Assistant General Counsel to General Counsel. She has over ten years of experience in insurance law. Prior to joining Everspan in 2024, she worked as a product consultant at Coaction Global.
