Westfield Specialty has appointed Cornelia Röskau as chief executive of newly formed Westfield Specialty Europe, which will begin underwriting operations in April, subject to regulatory approval.
Röskau has almost 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and joins Westfield Specialty from Sompo, where she served as European CEO of SI Insurance from August 2023.
Prior to that, she held key leadership positions at Globality Health and Groupe Henner.
In his new role, Röskau will be based in Luxembourg and report to Anthony Baldwin, President of Westfield Specialty International.
Baldwin commented: “Cornelia has had a long and distinguished career in the insurance industry and has a proven track record of leading successful businesses through periods of expansion and change.
“Her leadership will be instrumental as Westfield Specialty enters the next phase of its ambitious growth strategy.
“Expanding into the corporate market allows us to continue our sustainable expansion, increase our agility in the global insurance landscape, and provide more choice and flexibility to brokers and clients.”
