Munich Re Thailand, part of the global reinsurer, has appointed Chotima Puasiri as chief representative, effective March 1, 2026.

She joins ERGO (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the reinsurer’s primary insurance arm, as executive vice president (EVP) of product management and underwriting strategy.

In his new role, Puasiri reports to Michael Hauer, Munich Re’s managing director and head of non-life insurance in Southeast Asia.

She succeeds Luciën Heijstee, who has held the position since 2019. He will work with Puasiri for a transition period before retiring.

Puasiri has over a decade of experience in Thailand’s non-life insurance and reinsurance sectors, with deep expertise in underwriting strategy, reinsurance governance, claims oversight, operational transformation and product management.

Prior to joining ERGO, she held various positions at Nam Seng Insurance Public Company Ltd. Munich Re explained that her commitment to innovation and development in the Thai insurance market is demonstrated by her active participation in the General Insurance Association of Thailand and her leadership in insurtech initiatives.

Hauer commented on the appointment: “We sincerely thank Luciën Heijstee for his outstanding leadership in establishing and growing our Thailand representative office since 2019. His vision, dedication and hard work have laid a solid foundation for the office’s success.

“I am delighted that we have found Chotima Puasiri’s successor, who will represent Munich Re in an able and ambitious manner in this important growth market. With her extensive expertise in the Thai non-life insurance market, Chotima Puasiri is the ideal candidate for our Bangkok representative office.”

Puasiri added: “I am delighted to be traveling to Thailand on behalf of Munich Re and am deeply grateful to the company and team for their support.
