Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Aon has announced that its specialist UK insolvency and restructuring insurance and risk team in Birmingham has appointed Catherine Williamson as director of growth and technology.
In this newly created role, Williamson will focus on delivering insights and solutions to clients managing business restructuring and disruption.
By combining Aon’s venture capital and human capital capabilities, Williamson and the UK insolvency and restructuring team will help clients better manage risk, build resilience and achieve future growth.
She is an experienced licensed insolvency practitioner and qualified accountant with 27 years’ experience in a wide range of corporate insolvency appointments.
She joins Aon after 11 years at AlixPartners, most recently as a partner in the Manchester team, where she led the insolvency team and oversaw the administration of a number of high-profile cases, including Thomas Cook, Indigo Michael and Cineworld.
Aon hopes to further enhance the significant growth it has already experienced with this new appointment. While the insolvency market in England and Wales has remained relatively flat over the past year, growing by just 1.5%, Aon’s insolvency and restructuring team has grown by almost 25%.
