Insurance brokerage and risk management company Brown & Brown, Inc. announced the appointment of Dorothea Henderson as its chief information technology officer.
In this role, she will guide the company’s enterprise technology strategy and oversee efforts to expand digital capabilities and enhance the technology experience for team members and customers.
Henderson will work with department and functional leaders to improve team tools and processes, advance company-wide data and artificial intelligence strategies, strengthen system reliability and security, support technology integration of acquisitions, accelerate digital initiatives, and continue to grow top technology teams.

Henderson joins Brown & Brown from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, where he served as senior vice president and chief digital information officer. There, she led enterprise IT and drove digital initiatives, including modernizing the user experience, improving operational resiliency, and delivering technology-enabled business value.
Previously, she spent 18 years at Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, where she held leadership roles in cloud engineering, cybersecurity, global networks and mission-critical operations, most recently as vice president of digital solutions for business aviation. Henderson holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Pennsylvania State University and was recognized as a 2025 Modern Healthcare Leading Women honoree.
Henderson will begin work on February 23 and will be based in Daytona Beach, Florida.
