Berkshire (BHSI) elevates three leaders within property division

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), an insurance provider of commercial property, casualty and specialty insurance, announced significant promotions to its property leadership team.

Ryan Abelli and Chris Lemoine have been named co-heads of wholesale general real estate, while JP Ahlgren has been promoted to senior vice president of real estate.

Greg Freeman, senior vice president and head of real estate at BHSI, added: “Ryan, Chris and JP have been instrumental in building our strong wholesale integrated real estate business and industry-leading team. I look forward to working with them to continue to deepen our distribution partnerships and drive continued growth in key real estate segments across the country.”

Abelli and Lemoine have taken on new responsibilities following the retirement of Chris Dalby, who worked for the organization for more than a decade. “Chris has been a foundational leader, building our real estate business and team from day one. I thank him for his exemplary leadership and his lasting impact on our business and wish him the best in his new chapter,” Freeman continued.

Abelli joined BHSI in 2013 and has 18 years of property underwriting experience. He previously served as senior vice president of wholesale real estate. He lives in Boston and can be contacted at [email protected]

Lemoine also joined the company in 2013 and has 19 years of real estate underwriting experience. He most recently served as senior vice president of wholesale real estate.

Ahlgren joined BHSI in 2014 and has 18 years of underwriting experience in the real estate field. In his expanded responsibilities, he will lead day-to-day field underwriting operations and report to Abelli.
