Specialty insurance and reinsurance solutions provider AXIS has announced the appointment of Douglas Yates to its Accident & Health (A&H) team as head of US healthcare reinsurance underwriting.
Yates has nearly two decades of experience in healthcare reinsurance and joins AXIS from Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), where he served as vice president and actuary.
Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and chief actuary for A&H US at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.
Earlier in his career, Yates held various positions at Munich Re, most recently as Head of the MHNA-RD Projects Department.
In a recent LinkedIn post, AXIS said: “His deep expertise in employer stop-loss and quota share arrangements, as well as his ability to create innovative healthcare solutions, will aid our continued growth and innovation in this space.”
