Augment Risk hires Lucy Carter to bolster global MGA practice

Reinsurance and capital solutions broker Augment Risk has appointed Lucy Carter as partner at MGA, effective immediately.

Carter brings 19 years of experience in the US insurance and reinsurance markets before joining BMS Group.

Augment Risk explained that in her new role, Carter will focus on connecting project businesses, capacity providers and reinsurers through customized, capital-related solutions to deliver long-term value.

Augment Risk added that her appointment reflects the company’s continued investment in building a globally oriented MGA business.

“As the industry continues to evolve in mature and emerging markets, project businesses increasingly require partners with the technical depth, market relationships and execution capabilities to navigate complex capital and distribution decisions,” the company concluded.

In related news, last month, Augment Risk expanded the capabilities of its Latin America platform to include specialized weather parameters and structured weather risk transfer capabilities.

The broker explained that this expansion is in line with its capital-first philosophy, building risk solutions around clients’ financial and liquidity needs rather than relying on standardized compensation frameworks.

Based in Miami, the team will reportedly focus on designing and building weather-based solutions tailored for energy producers, utilities and large industrial customers.
