Athene Holding Ltd., a life and retirement reinsurer largely owned by investor and private equity specialist Apollo Global Management Inc., has appointed Scott Campion as head of new markets.
In his new role, Campion will focus on expanding Athene’s capabilities into new and adjacent areas.
“There is a significant and growing unmet customer need for guarantees and revenue that cannot be addressed by current products and channels alone. As part of this role, I will lead stable value and structured settlements,” Campion said in a recent LinkedIn post.
Prior to joining Athene, he worked at Prudential Financial, most recently as Head of Bermuda Reinsurance and CEO of Lotus Re. In this role, he was responsible for Prudential’s wholly owned reinsurers, Gibraltar Re and Lotus Re, and was responsible for driving the company’s enterprise-wide strategy across captive, affiliated and third-party reinsurers.
Prior to joining Prudential, Campion spent 16 years at Oliver Wyman, most recently as a partner in the firm’s insurance practice.
