Specialty managed general agent (MGA) underwriting platform Arrow Risk Management has appointed Paul Witzenfeld as head of underwriting to lead the company’s new property concurrent (FAC) reinsurance underwriting business.
The new approach will provide temporary property reinsurance on a primary loss and excess loss basis.
The goal is to maintain a broad risk appetite, underwriting a global portfolio focused on Fortune 1000 companies and similarly sized organizations.
MGA explained that operations will be conducted on the Arrow MGA platform to take advantage of its best-in-class operational services and operator data offerings.
Witzenfeld is an industry veteran with decades of experience in real estate, spanning both underwriting and brokerage.
He has practiced exclusively in the MGA sector for the past ten years, most recently leading the real estate side business at Asta and previously held senior underwriting roles at Castel and PEN Underwriting.
Mark Harrington, chief underwriting officer at Arrow Risk, commented: “Paul is an excellent addition to the Arrow Risk team, bringing exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge in the London market and internationally, underpinned by a strong record of leadership. Arrow Hub equips him with a seamless digital infrastructure to support the growth of Property FAC Reinsurance’s underwriting business.”
Witzenfeld added: “I am excited to join Arrow to launch the property FAC reinsurance business. We see tremendous growth opportunities in this market, offering broad coverage globally and working with Fortune 1000 and equivalent companies. Partnering with the experienced Arrow team and leveraging next-generation technology will ensure an efficient and seamless deployment of the temporary business.”
