Arch Insurance, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based reinsurance/insurance firm Arch Capital Group, has appointed Ernesto Medina Gomez to the newly created role of Head of European Execution Assurance at Arch Insurance (EU) dac (AIEU), effective immediately.
In his new role, Medina Gomez will lead the expansion of Arch’s execution assurance business in continental Europe, with a particular focus on the Iberian Peninsula.
Based in Madrid, he will work closely with Julien Martins, Head of Execution Assurance for France Benelux and France.
Medina Gomez will also lead Arch’s underwriting strategy, product development and distribution of executive protection solutions.
He has extensive experience in underwriting commercial directors and senior management and financial institutions business on large European accounts. Medina Gomez previously held senior underwriting roles at Probitas Zurich and The Hartford.
Most recently, Medina Gomez joined London-based Arch Insurance International in 2021 as the company’s senior executive surety underwriter.
