Specialist Lloyd’s reinsurance/insurance group Apollo has announced leadership changes in its construction business line as Tim Cook prepares to retire on 31 December 2025.
As part of the succession plan, Matt Larke will assume the role of Building Physical Damage Team Leader in April 2025.
Since then, the executive has assumed day-to-day leadership and is driving the next phase of the course’s development.
The build team continues to expand its technical capabilities, most recently welcoming Laura Sylvester, who joined in July from RSA/Intact, bringing deep expertise to support Apollo’s growing product portfolio and strategic expansion.
Tim Cook joined Apollo in 2022 with the short-term goal of establishing and starting writing Physical Damage in Buildings.
Since joining the firm, he has laid a solid foundation for the course, built meaningful broker relationships and positioned the firm as a reliable and growing market presence.
Prior to joining Apollo, he worked at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, where he served as head of North America’s energy and buildings business.
James Slaughter of Group CUO commented: “Tim brings deep technical expertise and thoughtful leadership to Apollo’s construction business. His work in establishing this course has created a strong platform for future growth.
“Matt is already in place and leading the way, and with the support of a talented and expanded team, we have a clear plan to deliver continued success and value for our customers.”
