Allianz Business Group announces the opening of its Miami Latin America Center with a well-established leadership team that combines regional expertise and global capabilities.
The new center significantly strengthens Allianz Commercial’s footprint in Latin America, enhancing the company’s ability to provide specialized solutions, including temporary reinsurance and commercial insurance, in several key areas including real estate, construction and natural resources, entertainment, financial operations (including cyber), maritime and multinational services.
The Miami center supports Allianz Commercial’s business operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, while expanding reinsurance operations into other Latin American regions, including Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Panama.
From the Miami office, the team connects regional client and broker needs with Allianz Commercial’s global underwriting, technology and capabilities platform.
Guilherme Bizzo has relocated to Miami from Brazil where he served as regional managing director and head of cross-border and alternative risk transfer.
He has co-led the Miami Center program from its inception and is now tasked with leading the office, driving the center’s overall strategy and execution and managing cross-border and alternative risk solutions.
His responsibilities also include coordinating cross-functional initiatives to ensure seamless integration into the Allianz Commercial global network.
As part-time division head, Angelica Torres is tasked with leading Miami Re’s operations, coordinating placements, managing broker relationships and expanding part-time capabilities across all lines of business in the region.
Eduardo Fontes serves as Head of Distribution, leading regional distribution strategy and business development across Latin America, strengthening broker partnerships and identifying market opportunities.
Felipe Orsi also transferred from Brazil and was appointed property director. He leads property-focused reinsurance and insurance strategies across Latin America, underwriting complex property risks and growing the regional portfolio.
Ivan Coronado is Head of Natural Resources and Construction, responsible for managing risk and providing specialist solutions for power generation, oil and gas, renewable energy, heavy industry and construction.
Monica Oyaga will move from Colombia in early 2026 as head of long tail, where she will strengthen the center’s commercial risk capabilities by leading underwriting strategy, portfolio management and technology excellence for financial lines, cyber, entertainment and other long-tail solutions.
Chief Technology Officer Daniel Castrillon relocated from Colombia in December. He is responsible for technology operations in Latin America, overseeing underwriting discipline, risk assessment, portfolio quality and technology excellence across all lines of business.
Miami’s leadership team will work closely with Gabriela Rosa (Brazil) and Diego Repetti (Argentina).
With a local base, Rosa and Reppetti complete the regional leadership structure, ensuring a strong on-the-ground presence and seamless coordination with national operating entities throughout Latin America.
David Colmenares, Managing Director of Allianz Commercial Latin America, commented: “Our leadership team, which is in place ahead of our official launch in February, demonstrates our commitment to Latin America and the Americas region as a whole. The team combines deep local market knowledge with global capabilities, allowing us to deliver exceptional value to our broker partners and clients.”
“Working hand-in-hand with our operating entities in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, the Miami Center strengthens our ability to meet the region’s evolving re/insurance needs and accelerates our growth as a unified Americas organization.”
