Global reinsurer Munich Re has appointed Till Böhmer as head of central analytics (data, analytics and artificial intelligence).
Böhmer will serve in this role on an interim basis for the next nine months, leading the central analytics function. He will be responsible for driving the analytics platform as well as AI strategy, communications, governance and training.
He returned to Munich Re after working for nearly four years at Ángel Thailand Insurance in Bangkok.
Prior to this, Böhmer spent 13 years at Munich Re, most recently as Global Head of Data Assets. He began his career at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a project leader.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Böhmer commented on his experience working at ERGO Thailand Insurance, saying: “What a journey it has been! It started in 2022 at Thaisri, a mid-sized insurance company among more than 50 general insurance companies in Thailand. Our business has tripled while improving loss ratios and profitability. After three integrations, renamed ERGO Thailand, merged into Munich Re and ERGO Group, what was once a small company has become one of the leading players, now ranked seventh in Thailand in terms of premiums, and capped off this incredible performance by winning the Asia Property & Casualty Insurance Company of the Year Award 2024.
