MSIG Asia, a general insurance company operating in Southeast Asia and part of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, has announced a number of senior leadership appointments, effective April 1, 2026.
Clemens Philippi, currently CEO of MSIG Asia and executive officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Insurance, will serve as executive officer of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings and chief strategy officer of the group’s international business.
He will be jointly responsible for formulating the group’s international strategy with Keisuke Ema, general manager of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company’s International Business Department, and Keisuke Ema will serve as co-chief strategy officer.
In their new roles, Philippi and Ema will report to Hironori Morimoto, Group Chief Global Officer of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, and will work to strengthen the coordination and strategic coherence of the Group’s international operations. Philippi will continue to serve as CEO of MSIG Asia until further notice.
Separately, MSIG Asia Chairman Tetsuya Adachi will resign and end his tenure with the group. He will be succeeded by Norihiro Tanaka, currently executive officer and head of planning at MSIG Asia.
Tanaka brings more than three decades of experience to the group, having previously held senior positions including General Manager Underwriting at MS Amlin and Head of Liability and Network at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company. His appointment is designed to support continuity of governance and strategic direction at board level. Tanaka will also serve as an executive officer of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings.

During his tenure as Chairman, we have worked together to grow our core product portfolio (excluding India) by 45% while advancing product innovation and digital transformation. We wish Mr. Adachi every success in the future and are confident that our business paths will cross again.
