Independent insurance and reinsurance broker BMS has announced the appointment of Charlie Emkes to the newly created role of Director of Commercial Directors and Officers (D&O) Solutions, effective January 2026.
In his new role, Emkes will coordinate with other BMS and DR&P colleagues to advance the company’s commercial D&O strategy and lead new business development efforts.
He will be based in London and report to Tom Spraggs, director and head of UK retail financial institutions at BMS Group.
Emkes joins BMS from Lockton where he served as vice president, finance and specialty risk broker.
Prior to this, he was a senior account manager at Protean Risk Limited and an associate director at Gallagher.
Spraggs commented: “Charlie brings a wealth of insurance and client relationships and deep industry knowledge, making him the ideal leader to drive innovation and growth at BMS Commercial D&O. He will foster closer alignment across the team and unlock new expansion opportunities.”
