Aon has appointed Jeff Alpaugh as Risk Capital’s chief commercial officer, responsible for leading the firm’s Risk Capital global commercial strategy, supporting clients in aligning capital, insight and risk solutions as they pursue growth in increasingly complex markets.
In his expanded role, Alpo will leverage this experience to further align Aon’s venture capital capabilities with client needs, particularly for organizations undertaking large-scale investment and growth initiatives.
In his new role, he will continue to serve as president and report to Risk Capital CEO Joe Peiser. Joe Peiser commented: “Jeff is a proven business leader with a deep understanding of customers, markets and the role Risk Capital plays in helping organizations grow with confidence.
“As client needs continue to evolve, Jeff’s ability to connect strategy, execution and investing will be critical to delivering comprehensive venture capital capabilities at scale.”
Alpaugh has nearly four decades of experience in the insurance and risk management industry. He joined Aon in 2023 as president, North America, playing a key role in developing regional strategy and execution while advancing enterprise-wide commercial priorities.
Prior to joining Aon, he spent more than 30 years at Marsh, where he held senior leadership roles focused on driving growth, deepening client relationships and supporting complex, capital-intensive organizations.
Alpaugh commented: “I’m excited to take on this role at an important time for clients and our business. The need for a comprehensive risk capital function continues to grow as organizations deal with more uncertainty and higher-risk capital decisions.
“My top priority is to ensure our business strategy is closely aligned with customer needs – bringing together insights, expertise and capital to help customers make better decisions and support long-term, sustainable growth.”
