Willis Re, the reinsurance advisory and brokerage joint venture between Bain Capital (BCIS) and WTW, has appointed William ‘Bill’ Morritt to its brokerage team.
Morritt began his career with Alexander Howden and has more than four decades of experience in the aviation reinsurance industry.
Most recently, he was with Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance brokerage of Marsh, and previously held senior roles at Willis and JLT Re.
Morritt advises clients on tailor-made reinsurance solutions addressing major global airline, general aviation, manufacturer, satellite and war risks as well as retrocession risks.
He has supported clients in major loss events, including the loss of the World Trade Center, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and other major international events.
Willis Re board member Lucy Clarke commented on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Bill to Willis Re as part of the continued development of our brokerage team.
“His extensive aerospace market experience and technical expertise make him a valuable addition to the company. Bill’s customer-focused approach further enhances our ability to deliver strong results for our customers.”
He will join Willis Re once he has completed his obligations to his current employer.
