WhatsApp now enables businesses to create and manage their catalogs from WhatsApp Web or desktop clients, thereby increasing the functionality previously available on mobile devices. The two new changes are designed to enhance the business experience by using WhatsApp as a source of customer attraction.
As businesses often use computers to manage their inventory, WhatsApp enables them to create and manage their catalogs on the platform directly from their web and desktop clients. The company said in a press release: “This is very useful for companies with large inventories such as restaurants or clothing stores, so they can manage their product catalogs from a larger screen.”
All users of the WhatsApp Business application can use the latest business features.
WhatsApp introduced a “catalog” function in its business application in November 2019, so that companies can easily display and share their products on the platform. It claims that people can currently browse more than 8 million business directories on WhatsApp, of which there are 1 million in India alone.
In addition to the ability to manage catalogs through the desktop, WhatsApp also provides the option to hide specific items from the catalog, and when they are restocked or available to customers, they can be brought back again.
Businesses on the WhatsApp Business app can hide directory items by going to the following location Set value > Business tools > table of Contents. The application will display all the items listed in the catalog, which can be hidden by clicking on the more options (three dots) icon and then hiding. hide > hide. Business users can also hide items in batches by pressing and holding one of the items to be hidden until the green check mark appears, and then tapping the other items to be hidden.
