WhatsApp brings voice message playback speed switching, and adds “Laugh It Off” animated sticker pack

WhatsApp is rolling out an update that brings support for adjusting the playback speed of voice messages. Android and iPhone users, as well as WhatsApp Web and desktop clients will get a new experience. It allows you to use native controls to double the speed of voice mail playback. In addition to the update, WhatsApp also brought a new sticker pack called “Laugh It Off!” To Android and iPhone devices. The sticker pack includes 28 kinds of animated stickers for you to choose from.

Users of WhatsApp for Android 2.21.9.15 or iPhone for iPhone 2.21.100 will receive a playback speed switch, which allows switching from 1x speed to 1.5x speed and 2x speed. The switch button is located next to the audio search bar. Once you click it, you can switch the playback speed of the voice message.

In addition to Android and iPhone users, WhatsApp also brings the playback speed control of voice messages to its web and desktop clients-as first reported by WABetaInfo. The new features are available on WhatsApp Web and desktop version 2.119.6.

The updated iPhone version of WhatsApp also enables groups to display the “@” symbol in the chat list when someone mentions you or responds to your message.

WhatsApp also brought “Laugh It Off!” sticker packs for Android and iPhone users. It contains animated stickers that you can use to react to funny messages.

WhatsApp added “Laugh It Off!” sticker pack

It may take some time for the sticker pack to appear on your WhatsApp account. However, you can use the deep link of the WABetaInfo report to manually add it along with the existing tags.

Earlier this month, WhatsApp was found to have tested sticker suggestions on its Android and iOS apps to suggest stickers to users based on text entered by users. This feature may initially be limited to the native sticker collection of WhatsApp. It may grow gradually, and may be applicable to third-party sticker packs.
