The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is gearing up for launch on June 27 and will be sold alongside the existing Scorpio, known as the Scorpio Classic.

Mahindra recently unveiled the all-new Scorpio-N, an SUV that will go on sale on June 27, 2022. But interestingly, the Scorpio-N won’t the existing Scorpio, but will sit alongside the much-loved SUV many believe that the current model has been renamed the “Scorpio Classic.” While we wait to release more details about the Scorpio-N, here’s everything we know about the SUV so far.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is based on a new body-on-frame platform.

The new Scorpio-N is based on a new body-on-frame platform. The dimensions of the SUV have been leaked through the owner’s manual, and the SUV measures 4,662mm in length, 1,917mm in width and 1,870mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,750 mm. Compared to the outgoing model, the SUV is a healthy 206mm long and 97mm wide, while the wheelbase has also grown by 70mm.

LED dual-pod projection headlights are a new addition to the Scorpio-N

The look of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N is quite bold and is based on the same boxy silhouette as before. Up front, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has a new grille with six slats, a new Mahindra logo in the middle and a honeycomb mesh for the air dam below. LED binocular projector headlights are a new addition to the Scorpio-N, as are the LED fog lights that sit between the C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The hood has strong lines that accentuate its SUV stance. There is also a small amount of chrome on the front as well as the sides of the door handles. Black cladding and silver highlights add to the SUV’s overall rugged appeal, while chrome accents on the beltline add a premium feel. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N sits on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Scorpio-N gets a completely redesigned interior.

The new generation Mahindra Scorpio-N has received a complete overhaul in the cabin, with a better design and more onboard technology. The dashboard has a new design, with use of leather throughout the cabin. A large touchscreen on the dash takes center stage, flanked by vertical air-conditioning vents, and there are physical buttons for the automatic climate control system. The automaker also revealed some of the that will make it to the vehicle, including the AdrenoX user interface that first appeared on the Mahindra XUV700. The AdrenoX system also brings connected car technology, as well as driver drowsiness detection. Additionally, the new Scorpio-N will get Sony’s 3D sound system.

The Scorpio-N also has captain’s seats in the second row and front seats in the third row.

Other on the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N will include a power sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a flat-bottom steering wheel, brown and black interior trim, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin also features wireless charging, dual-pod instrument cluster with MID unit, engine start-stop button, cruise control, multiple driving modes, six airbags, roof speakers and more. The SUV also gets captain’s seats in the second row and front seats in the third row. Lower variants will likely get bench-style seats in the second row. The third row will also get 60:40 split seats for better cargo space.

Engine and Transmission:

The Scorpio-N is expected to come with the same engine options as the XUV700, including a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine and a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel. The company is expected to offer slightly lower trim status for both engine options of the Scorpio-N. Both engine options are expected to come with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options, as well as a possible four-wheel-drive system in a top-spec variant.
