WarnerMedia told Advertisement Shout that the Justice League Snyder Cut is most likely to be launched in India, although the exact time and location is unclear. In a statement dedicated to Advertisement Shout, a WarnerMedia spokesperson said: “We know how much Zach Snyder’s Justice League means to our DC fan base in India, and we are fully committed to making this movie as much as possible. Release as widely as possible at the same time. The world premiere will be held on March 18. We are in discussions with local and global partners and will provide more details in the short term.”
To be fair, there is nothing more to do, but WarnerMedia’s tone and emphasis indicate good development. The parent company of Warner Bros. apparently seems committed to ensuring that Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” is released globally. And there are good reasons. With the edited version of the 2017 movie going directly to streaming-only on HBO Max in the US-this means that there is a greater threat of piracy around the neck of the movie. If WarnerMedia cannot allow DC fans all over the world to watch the movie legally, they will just look for other ways to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether WarnerMedia is actually managing the daily distribution of Snyder Cut of the Indian Judicial League for the rest of the world. There may also be the question of where to stream. In light of this, it is interesting to mention “local and global partners”. In the past, WarnerMedia has stated that it will continue to cooperate with existing partners in areas where HBO Max has no plans to start. In India, Warner Bros. has partnerships with all well-known companies. Some movies are on Netflix, others are on Amazon Prime Video. At the same time, Disney + Hotstar owns most of the HBO content.
The last point leads people to speculate that Zack Snyder’s Justice League may appear on Disney + Hotstar, but it is worth noting that despite the same name, HBO and HBO Max are very different entity. Disney’s transaction is limited to HBO, which is why there is no original HBO Max landed on Disney + Hotstar. Considering the relationship with Warner Bros. India, Netflix and Amazon seem to be more suitable for Zack Snyder’s Justice League deal, but if WarnerMedia chooses to cooperate with a third party, it will be surprising. As of now, Justice League Snyder Cut only provides HBO services globally.
Can WarnerMedia finally pay per use? Warner Bros. India earlier released Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” and “Tenet” on Apple TV and Google Play (and now the newly announced BookMyShow Stream). Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” (Wonder Woman 1984), the film from the theater to the online platform is eight weeks and six weeks respectively. If you choose this route, you can rent/buy Zack Snyder’s Justice League at a separate price.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be launched on March 18th in HBO Max in the United States, HBO Go in parts of Asia, and HBO services in Central Europe, Northern Europe, Portugal and Spain. HBO Max will be released in Latin America later in 2021.
