Insurance holding company WR Berkley Corporation announced the appointment of Lee Iannarone as executive vice president, succeeding Stephen Kennedy, who has been named senior vice president and general counsel.
As part of his new responsibilities, Iannarone, who has more than 25 years of industry experience, will oversee certain aspects of the company’s operations.
The executive has joined WR Berkley Corporation as senior vice president and general counsel starting in 2023. Previously served as general counsel and chief compliance officer of a well-known international re/insurance company.
Kennedy has extensive experience specializing in insurance and reinsurance transactions, regulatory and compliance issues, corporate governance and dispute resolution.
Kennedy joined the firm in 2020 as vice president and senior counsel, and prior to joining Berkeley, he held senior equity partner positions at an international law firm, served as vice president and litigation and claims counsel at a leading domestic reinsurer, and served as a litigation associate at another international law firm.
Commenting on the appointments, which are effective immediately, W. Robert Berkley, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of WR Berkley Corporation, said, “Both Lee and Stephen have been key contributors to the success of our business during their tenure.
“We expect these changes in each of their responsibilities will allow us to more fully leverage their individual skills and allow them to have a greater impact on the future success of the company.”
