Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, Uttar Pradesh’s lockdown has been extended to the morning of May 10, and it has now become a mandatory requirement for state residents to have electronic passes during the lockdown period. The state government will issue e-passes for regional and inter-regional travel. The government has issued a notice setting out which basic service personnel are allowed to travel freely after the passage is allowed. The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a new section under the official website to help you apply for an e-pass.

In the notice issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, people engaged in industry, medical supplies, e-commerce business, emergency medical care, and print and electronic media work. The electronic pass will be valid during the lock-up period, and you only need to fill out the online application form to get the pass.

How to apply for an electronic pass during the lock-in period in Uttar Pradesh

  1. Click on Apply for an e-pass In the upper right corner of the window.

  2. The system will ask you to provide a phone number so that the government can register you and send OTP.

  3. Punch holes in the verification code and click Generate one-time password

  4. After obtaining the OTP, enter the code and you will be taken to Electronic Pass Application Form.

  5. Enter your details, such as name, address, phone number, area, tehsil, pass area, ID card, your photo and vehicle type.

  6. In the ID card, you can use any government-issued ID card, including PAN/Voter/Aadhar card/permit.

  7. The size of the soft copy should not exceed 200KB

  8. Click the checkbox to ask you to confirm.

  9. Now, click the “Submit” button. Soon, you will get an electronic pass.

It should be noted that the decision to further expand the restrictions will be made on Sunday. In addition, those who have a vaccination date can also move during the lock-in period.
