Robin Udhwan has been appointed Canadian project director for global reinsurer Munich Re North America (MRS-NA).
Udhwan is a seasoned veteran of the North American insurance space, particularly in Canada and the United States, and brings deep expertise in underwriting, operations and strategic leadership to the position.
In his new role, the executive will oversee the underwriting and management of MRS-NA’s Managing General Agent (MGA) portfolio business
His leadership is expected to strengthen the company’s specialty offerings in the Canadian market, where policies are underwritten by Temple Insurance Company, a member of Munich Re Group.
Udhwan will report to Claudia Carnevale, North America Program Director, and Derek Stewart, Senior Vice President, Temple Insurance Company.
The executive served as vice president and head of business operations at Everest before joining the Munich Re major.
Prior to that, he spent 12 years in his career with US insurance company Travelers, where he served as Assistant Vice President, Commercial Insurance – International Startup and Development, and was later named National Vice President – Chief Underwriting Officer.
Earlier in his career, Udhwan served as director of underwriting for the technology practice and acting assistant vice president.
