The next main story in the long-term survival horror video game series “Resident Evil Village” has been released on May 7th. In the franchise presentation on Thursday, Capcom announced that “Resident Evil Village” will also be launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox, extending access beyond its original PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X promises. In addition, PS4 and Xbox One owners of “Resident Evil Village” will be eligible to upgrade to their next-generation consoles for free.
At the same time, Capcom also showed two ways to experience the “Resident Evil Village”. The first one already available is a PS5 exclusive demo called “Resident Evil Village Girl”. The second is Resident Evil Re: Verse, which is an online multiplayer online game of Resident Evil, available for free to everyone who purchases Resident Evil Village.
Peter Fabiano, producer of Resident Evil Village, explained that Resident Evil Village Maiden is an independent experience that was originally designed as a visual demonstration but later developed into a short story with puzzle elements. The maiden show takes place before the main game. The player controls a character called the “virgin” who cannot fight or even stop, but must escape from Dimitrescu Castle.
Resident Evil Re: Verse is a six-player competitive multiplayer game mode played from a third-person perspective, which is different from the first-person perspective of the main game. You will choose from iconic Resident Evil characters such as Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Claire Valentine and Leon Kennedy. Re: Verse coincides with the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil. At startup, it will not be provided separately.
“Resident Evil Village” will be launched on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X on May 7. You can now pre-order the game on Steam, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
