The Battlefield 2042 multiplayer first-person shooter game for PlayStation, Xbox and PC has officially unveiled with a trailer showing footage of its game engine. The game was developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The release date is October 22. The trailer previews some game modes of the multiplayer game. Battlefield 2042 takes things to a new level, with up to 128 players fighting. The game will have a huge map, including what the developers call “Levolution”-an event that can change the battlefield for a dynamic and unpredictable experience.
The trailer was shared on Battlefield’s official YouTube channel, showing the game engine footage and expectations for Battlefield 2042. The actual game screen will be announced on June 13. The trailer previews the game modes, and another mode including Total War and Danger Zone will be unveiled on EA Play Live on July 22. All-Out Warfare will be a large-scale battle with conquest and breakthrough modes. Up to 128 players can play on Xbox Series X/Series S, PlayStation 5 and personal computers. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game support up to 64 players.
The trailer introduces a new “Levolution” element, a tornado moving on the map that can roll up objects, vehicles, players, and even destroy certain parts of the map. Players in wingsuits can fly around and can customize guns as needed. It also showcases the iconic Battlefield 4 action, where players eject from their jets, shoot down enemy aircraft, and then re-enter. This is a tribute to the battlefield players who are familiar with this gameplay. According to the Battlefield 2042 website, the third mode is a love letter to core fans.
“Battlefield 2042” will have seven maps, namely track, hourglass, kaleidoscope, manifest, abandoned, detached and updated. They are large maps, and because of their size, their capture area mechanism is slightly different from the previous games in the series.
YouTuber Jackfrags is apparently part of the “Battlefield 2042” pre-news briefing, and he shared that there will be no single-player campaigns. However, there will be story elements in the map. “Battlefield 2042” features AI soldiers, and players can also choose to fight against the robot army alone or with their friends. And it looks like it will be easier to get a vehicle. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will get relatively small maps tailored for 64 players, but large events will still exist.
“Battlefield 2042” is now accepting pre-orders and will be released on October 22. The price is Rs. 3,499 via Steam, Origin and Epic Store on PC. For Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, the game is priced at Rs. 4,499, and for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it costs Rs. 3,999. The gameplay announcement will be held on June 13th.
