Gallagher Re, the reinsurance arm of the global brokerage group, has announced the appointment of Erika Schoch as Gallagher Re’s maritime strategy advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
In her new consulting role, Schoch will draw on her diverse background and expertise to support the growth of our marine business across the region and work with other business units.
“Her deep technical knowledge, strong client relationships and commitment to excellence will help build client value,” said Gallagher Re.
Schoch joins Gallagher Re from a 34-year career at Swiss Re, most recently as a University of Washington specialist and head of agriculture for Latin America.
Prior to that, she served as Regional Director of Transportation and Agriculture for Latin America, and Regional Manager for Latin America – Senior Vice President.
She is also a member of Asociación Latinoamericana de Suscriptores Marítimos – ALSUM, a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving marine insurance underwriting standards in Latin America through knowledge, discussion and education.
At ALSUM, she served as president and later as vice chair of the board of directors. Additionally, she is a member of the Facts and Figures Committee of the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI).
