Global reinsurer Swiss Re has announced the appointment of Trent Thomson as Global Head of Specialty Business, effective July 1, 2026.
Thomson will succeed Anne Lohbeck and will be based in London.
He currently serves as CEO of Swiss Re Australia and New Zealand and has nearly three decades of industry experience.
Thomson joined Swiss Re in 2004 as a casualty underwriter and subsequently led regional teams, while also being responsible for key global accounts in Asia Pacific and the United States.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, he worked as a casualty underwriter at Munich Re and AIG and began his career as a liability underwriter at RSA.
