Spotify will enter 85 new markets in the next few days

Co-founder and CEO Daniel Ek announced in an online-only Stream On event on Monday that Spotify will expand to 85 locations in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America in the “coming days”. A new market. These include large new markets such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria. In total, these 85 new Spotify markets represent more than 1 billion people-a huge new audience that Spotify has not yet developed. Global monthly active users have grown to 345 million, and paid users have reached 155 million. This is Spotify’s biggest expansion to date-currently in 93 countries and 12 years-essentially making it a global service.

In all 85 new markets, Spotify will offer Spotify Free and Spotify Premium plans. Spotify said that individual, family, duo and student Spotify plans will be launched in specific markets. Listeners in the new market will be able to access Spotify in mobile apps and browsers. Applications for TVs, game consoles, speakers, wearables and cars will be launched in the “coming months”. Spotify’s global music catalog will be available in all new 85 markets and will work with local copyright owners to add more local products.
