Specialty Program Group (SPG) LLC, a specialty insurance platform, has acquired Logistiq Insurance Solutions (Logistiq) to merge its business with its previously acquired Anova Marine Insurance.
This strategic move brings together two marine and transportation insurance entities to create a unified, technology-forward platform that addresses the complex risks of global supply chains through SPG’s freight and logistics platform.
The move will combine Anova’s ocean and digital underwriting expertise, Logistiq’s domestic transportation and risk intelligence expertise, and SPG Transportation’s broad range of liability, workers’ compensation and other transportation products to provide freight forwarders, 3PLs and motor carriers with “complete” insurance coverage.
SPG’s new freight and logistics capabilities are supported by a team of industry veterans, including Bradford A. Boyd, president of Anova Marine Insurance Services, and Glenn Stebbings, president of Logistiq Insurance Solutions.
Joining Julian Stokes, former president of Dual Logistics, who joined Anova in mid-2025 to lead their non-maritime initiatives, including building creative solutions for complex liability programs; and Scott Cornell, former vice president of transportation risk and strategy at Travelers, who joined Logistiq in late 2025 as chief risk officer to lead proactive loss prevention.
Chris Treanor, President and CEO of Specialty Projects Group, commented, “Bringing Julian and Scott into this ecosystem alongside Bradford and Glenn is a game changer. Julian’s unparalleled track record in non-ocean logistics underwriting and Scott’s legendary expertise in cargo theft and supply chain security provide our partners with insights that do not exist elsewhere. We are not just underwriting insurance; we are building an innovation community where every member is ‘stronger’ together.'”
Boyd added: “Joining the SPG family and partnering with the Logistiq team allows us to scale faster than ever before. By combining Anova’s automated underwriting technology with the vast resources of an integrated platform, we will stay true to our roots of flexible claims and versatile underwriting while reaching a global audience. This is the next chapter in revolutionizing the way logistics and cargo insurance is underwritten and serviced.”
“Our focus has always been on supporting the logistics industry with intelligence and proactive risk management, and this partnership is the logical next step,” said Stebbings. “With SPG’s increased distribution weight and the expertise of leaders like Scott Cornell and Julian Stokes, we are well-positioned to help our customers navigate a fundamentally changed fraud and theft landscape with confidence.”
