Sony PlayStation 5 will announce support for popular streaming media applications when it is released. These streaming media applications include Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, etc. PlayStation 5 will not only become a game console, but also an entertainment center. Just like PlayStation 4 and its support for streaming media applications, the next generation of game consoles will provide a similar experience in a more simplified way. In addition, Media Remote will allow users to navigate and control the entertainment experience.
Phil Rosenberg, head of global parent development and relations, shared through a blog post that the popular streaming application will be released on PlayStation 5. These applications include Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, MyCanal, Peacock and more. More applications will be added to the list in the future.
Applications such as Twitch and YouTube will be more deeply integrated with PS5. Users will be able to watch or play their gameplay on Twitch directly from the console, and chat with other game players in real time through several communities on Twitch. With YouTube, users can directly share broadcast game moments to their YouTube channel and share with them.
These streaming services will be available in the dedicated media section on the console homepage. As you can see from the recently shared UI walkthrough, there are two main tabs on the homepage, one for games and the other for media, allowing players to quickly switch between the two.
The blog added that users will not have to download these entertainment applications through the PS Store as before. In addition, the new control center makes music control easier.
In addition, PS5’s Media Remote allows users to easily browse the console and turn on the power. The remote control has a built-in play/pause button, fast forward and rewind, volume adjustment and power options. Netflix, YouTube, Spotify and Disney+ have dedicated buttons.
PlayStation 5 will be launched next month, some regions will visit the console on November 10th, and other regions will visit the console on November 19th, but the release date in India is unclear.
