Sompo, a global provider of commercial and consumer property, casualty and specialty re/insurance, announces the appointment of Elliot Paul as Head of Ocean Freight in London, UK.
Paul brings over 15 years of maritime expertise to Sompo, including most recently as Head of Cargo and Maritime Liability at CNA Hardy’s Lloyd’s Syndicate.
Prior to this, he held positions including senior freight underwriter and shift manager in the Lloyd’s freight division of CNA Hardy.
Previously, Paul worked for QBE Europe for nearly 11 years, most recently as a cross-border freight underwriter.
He began his career at RSA as a commercial claims handler and was later promoted to underwriting associate.
“He joins our maritime team in the UK at a very exciting time as we build a versatile team of experts to serve clients and brokers across the full range of maritime risks,” Sompo said in a recent LinkedIn post.
