Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd. has announced the appointment of Sinead Cormican as chief underwriting officer (CUO) of its London-based underwriting platform, Hamilton Global Specialty.
Cormican succeeds Miles Osorio, who will retire at the end of June 2026 after more than a decade at Hamilton.
In her new role, Cormican will report to Hamilton Global Specialty CEO Alex Baker and will continue in her role as Syndicate 4000 active underwriter while assuming CUO responsibilities.
She brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, deep technical expertise, strong market insights and a proven leadership record.
Cormican has been with Hamilton for the past decade and played a key role in the development of Hamilton Global Specialty’s underwriting platform. She has been the current underwriter since April 2025.
Prior to joining Hamilton, she worked as a property underwriter at Hardy Underwriting Group Limited and ACE Bermuda International.
Hamilton also announced the appointment of Richard Northcott as head of global specialist business development strategy for Hamilton, in addition to his current role as head of marine and energy.
In this expanded role, Northcote will report to Baker and lead strategic business development initiatives across all categories of Hamilton’s global specialty business, with a focus on strengthening broker and client relationships and enhancing the company’s market offerings.
