Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), the underwriting management arm of Ryan Specialty, has officially renamed its North American Professional Liability (NAPL) team to Ryan Financial Lines.
The capital increase is designed to significantly strengthen Ryan Financial Lines’ international portfolio and bring deep expertise in the US professional liability sector.
Ryan Financial Lines is the managing general underwriter of RSUM and specializes in a variety of financial products.
NAPL was originally established in October 2021 and has since built a solid reputation for underwriting professional services business in the United States, backed by A+ rated carriers globally.
The team continues to provide primary and additional tiers of coverage for large risk management clients, including law firms, accounting firms, architects, engineers and construction professionals.
Patrick Comerford and Clive Moore are now Managing Directors of Ryan Financial Lines’ international division, which currently operates from Ryan Specialty’s London office. The two had previously jointly headed Castel’s NAPL unit.
Previously, Comerford led AIG and Lexington’s U.S. professional liability teams in the London market for nearly two decades, while Moore held senior underwriting roles in Brit Insurance’s U.S. professional liability division at Lloyd’s of London.
