International insurance provider QBE has welcomed Lucy Smith and Hannah Dennis ahead of the launch of a new media professional indemnity (PI) product for its European operations.
Smith serves as Senior Media PI Underwriter and Dennis serves as Media PI Underwriter. Both will be based in London and report to Chris Pavlou, QBE Europe International Markets Professional Indemnity Portfolio Manager.
Smith has more than a decade of media underwriting experience, most recently as senior media, film and television underwriter for Tokio Marine HCC. Dennis, also from Tokio Marine HCC, has worked in the insurance industry for 10 years, focusing on media, film and television underwriting for the past three years and previously as a media, film and television underwriter.
In their new roles, they aim to emulate the success of QBE’s North American Media PI product, launched more than a decade ago, which provides specialist indemnity coverage for video and film production, radio and television broadcasting, publishing and other media industries.
Pavlou added: “We are delighted to welcome Lucy and Hannah to QBE as we expand our PI offering into the media sector. The hiring of two trusted media insurance experts solidifies QBE’s commitment to growth in this area as we look to further diversify our PI portfolio.”
