International business insurer QBE has announced the appointment of Chris Reidy as head of core claims and James Villiers as head of complex claims for its European business.
Reidy succeeds Scott Jacobs, who has been with QBE for nearly two decades, most recently as integrated property, casualty, motor and health claims manager.
Jacobs has been appointed Head of Claims Transformation, where he will be responsible for leading modernization and change initiatives across claims, looking at the best use of artificial intelligence, automation and global transformation.
Villiers brings 20 years of expertise in the complex claims sector to his new role, having spent the past seven years as Complex Marine and Energy Claims Manager.
He will take over the role of head of complex claims for the European business from Fiona Sperry, who is retiring.
Reidy, Villiers and Jacobs will report to Mike East, Claims Director at QBE Europe, who commented: “I am delighted to have made these appointments from within, which is testament to the excellent talent pipeline QBE has. I am confident that Chris and James will help us continue to deliver an outstanding claims service to our clients.”
“I’m delighted that Scott will take on the role of Head of Claims Transformation after being actively involved in successful modernization initiatives that have put our customers at the heart of claims services. Creating this role demonstrates our commitment to new ways of working and technology and improving our services. I also wish Fiona all the best in her retirement.”
