Real-time flood forecasting Insurtech company Previsico has partnered with Snapshot Live to integrate real-time visual monitoring into its flood intelligence platform to enhance flood risk forecasts.
Snapshot Live delivers AI-powered remote visual intelligence to help organizations eliminate operational blind spots in locations where traditional monitoring solutions fail.
Snapshot Live’s solar-powered off-grid cellular cameras are deployed in flood-prone locations and capture images on a schedule or in response to real-time alerts, with frequency automatically increasing as predicted risk increases.
This allows flood risk teams to immediately visually confirm conditions without the need for a site visit, allowing them to identify blocked culverts, debris accumulation or drainage deterioration in real time before an incident escalates.
Previsico’s integration allows for earlier identification of emerging risks, faster deployment decisions, fewer unnecessary calls, and stronger post-event recording for damage assessment and insurance purposes.
Customers such as National Highways are already seeing the benefits of this comprehensive intelligence, allowing them to take critical preventive measures.
Dr Steven Hayward, IoT Systems Manager at Previsico, commented: “Snapshot Live provides our customers with a proactive advantage, enabling early identification of debris build-up in culverts so that maintenance teams can be dispatched before it rains. Reliable monitoring of the ground during events is important.”
Roger Poeth, chief culture officer at Snapshot Live, said: “Together, we help teams move beyond point-based perception and gain critical context as flood risk evolves. Seeing is believing, and we deliver clarity when it matters most.”
National Highways Structural Engineer Andrew Simpson added: “The sensors and cameras allow us to carry out preventive debris removal from the building and significantly reduce the risk of future flooding.”
